Tomato Plate Series

Cemented in time through hand-built ceramic and found porcelain, each work expresses a unique personality of its own. The rhythm of producing and matching each individual tomato to each plate felt akin to organizing, collecting, and curating my own thoughts and memories. Throughout this process, I pondered my reasons and motivations for continuing with this imagery, and ultimately found that there are deep pools of gratitude and meaning when sitting with influential experiences that take time to wade through. With continuous encouragement and insight from friends and family, I decided to name each piece after influential women in my life.
